Carroll Named Travel & Tourism Category Director for Wall Street Journal's Consumer Advertising Sales Group


NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Michael Carroll was named travel & tourism category director for The Wall Street Journal's consumer advertising sales group.

In this role, Mr. Carroll's responsibilities will include overseeing various advertising categories, including tourism, hotels, cruise lines and other online travel sites.

"Michael is a well-respected publishing executive who is going to make a great addition to our team," said Judy Barry, senior vice president of sales and marketing for The Wall Street Journal. "With his experience and knowledge, Michael has a great deal to contribute to the Journal."

Prior to joining the Journal, Mr. Carroll worked for the Harvard Business Review as a national advertising manager, where he expanded their travel, financial and luxury categories by gaining significant growth in ad sales. Mr. Carroll was also the director of advertising and interactive marketing for Air France where he was employed for 15 years.

Mr. Carroll earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Boston University.
