Xlibris Releases Dolly Crystal, Queen of the Circus -- New Novel Tells the Touching Story of a Former Circus Celebrity Who Looks Back At Her Days of Glory

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 26, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Once all the glory is gone, getting it back is usually a pointless struggle but to an old woman named Dolly it came easy. She found a way to create her own euphoric world filled with all the glory she once had. This heart warming saga is set to begin as Xlibris announces the release of author Ida Jack's new novel Dolly Crystal, Queen of the Circus.

The year is 1953. An old ex-circus queen presses on with her daily routine of applying thick clown-like makeup then walking across the street to sit on an apple crate to reminisce about her glorious past...to when she was somebody. Go with Dolly for the ride of your life back in time and let her show you who she used to be...and who she turned out to be. This bittersweet story tells how she rises to fame then falls with shame when scandals surface. Read the book to find out what causes her to lose what she loves the most...her reign as Dolly Crystal, Queen of the Circus.

About the Author

Ida Jack was actually haunted into writing this story by a ghost from her childhood in the 1950's. She'd met the old eccentric woman and remembered her well with her flaming red hair and painted-on lips. Dolly, at one time, was indeed the Queen of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and told stories about her past to Ida and her friends. Ida has since forgotten exactly how the old woman's stories went, so with few memories and mostly imagination, she's recreated Dolly's glorious past. Ida Jack is currently working on her next book called, "Changing the Manmade Woman" an autobiography, which should be out by this summer.
