Foundry Networks Demonstrates Powerful Closed Loop Threat Mitigation Security With Lancope and Lockdown At RSA Conference 2007

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Foundry Networks(r), Inc. (Nasdaq:FDRY), a performance and total solutions leader for end-to-end switching and routing, today announced it will demonstrate the company's centralized management offering IronView Network Manager (INM) running closed loop security at RSA(r) Conference 2007 in the San Francisco Moscone Center, February 5-9. INM delivers a broad range of powerful features designed to configure, secure, and scale Foundry's wired, wireless, and application traffic management solutions.

To validate these robust security capabilities, Lancope will demonstrate integration with INM enabling network-wide security at Foundry Networks' booth. INM leverages sFlow(r) traffic monitoring, embedded in Foundry's switches and routers, and open source, signature-based security applications and tools, such as Snort(r), to deliver highly scalable security and threat mitigation without the cost of ancillary security sensors. Lancope's StealthWatch Xe for sFlow completes the Intrusion Defense demonstration by adding network behavior analysis for protection from "Zero Day" attacks. Like INM, StealthWatch also utilizes sFlow to baseline network activity and detect anomalies, which can be indicative of malware. INM can accept StealthWatch events, and based on configured security policies, can take remedial action to quickly stop a "Zero-Day" threat.

"Lancope and Foundry are a powerful combination, as proven by the increasing number of StealthWatch deployments that successfully leverage sFlow for optimizing security and network operations," said Harland LaVigne, president and chief executive officer for Lancope. "This integration deepens our Foundry partnership and provides joint customers with a powerful solution for addressing a multitude of network operations and security challenges. StealthWatch provides a detailed view of how users, applications, hosts and devices behave on enterprise network. This visibility enables more precise threat mitigation capabilities via Foundry INM than ever before."

Additionally, Lockdown Networks will complete the closed loop security picture, by demonstrating their award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) solution using their Enforcer product. Lockdown Enforcer is a dynamic network access control appliance that simultaneously authenticates users and devices, then audits them on-schedule or on-demand to ensure conformance with IT and security policies. This NAC solution allows endpoints to be assessed to determine health and compliance to IT security policies before they are permitted access to network resources. Enforcer ensures ongoing device compliance through regular assessment and health checks, using Foundry-based infrastructures as the enforcement point for optimum security. Enforcer works with Foundry wired and wireless networking products to secure both managed and unmanaged devices, and supports 802.1x, web-login, and windows authentication.

"Network security takes a huge step forward when systems work together to share actionable events without custom integration," said Brett Helsel, chief executive officer for Lockdown Networks. "By passing information and sharing services between Foundry, Lancope and Lockdown using industry standard and open API's, we've achieved a watershed in network security, enabling users to perform integrated real-time Network Behavior Analysis and Network Access Control. This provides end users a huge increase in security, without the drawbacks of false-positives, or logs that must be manually reviewed and analyzed."

"Foundry Networks' Security Alliance is an open program that allows leading edge security solutions, like those from Lockdown Networks and Lancope, to seamlessly interoperate with Foundry's high-performance switches and routers," said Gary Hemminger, director of product marketing, security and VoIP, for Foundry Networks. "Foundry, together with Lockdown Networks and Lancope, enables customers to protect their network against ever increasing security threats that strain IT departments and place valuable assets in jeopardy. The partnerships expand options for organizations that want to build secure network solutions that are cost-effective, scalable and reliable without forcing customers into single vendor solutions."
