Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Appoints Linda A. Mills President of Civilian Agencies Business Group


MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Linda A. Mills president of its Civilian Agencies business, one of four business groups of the company's Information Technology (IT) sector. The IT sector is part of the company's $10.9 billion Information and Services business segment.

Mills reports to James O'Neill, corporate vice president and president of the company's IT sector. Mills brings to her new role extensive experience in business operations, strategy and planning.

"Linda has the talent to effectively oversee the company's pursuits in the non-traditional defense market, including health IT and homeland security initiatives."

In this position, Mills will lead Northrop Grumman IT's enterprise-wide network solutions and IT systems development, integration, services, health solutions, program management and consulting, to help federal government agencies serve the public and protect the homeland.

Previously, Mills served as vice president of Operations and Processes for Northrop Grumman IT, where she helped set the strategic course for the sector while ensuring optimal program performance.

Prior to joining the IT sector, Mills was the vice president for Mission Assurance/Six Sigma at Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector. She led the strategy and implementation for sector-wide initiatives including mission assurance and Six Sigma, aimed at increasing customer satisfaction through streamlined operations, improved decision making through the use of metrics, and continued mission success for delivered customer systems. She also led the engineering process and quantitative analysis efforts, including Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model(r) Integration assessments.

In her earlier roles at the Mission Systems sector, she worked in a variety of business operations and program management positions, including vice president of the internal information infrastructure organization, vice president for the corporate Global Year 2000 program and director of the U.S. Treasury Communications System program.

Mills earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Santa Clara and a master's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.
