Saab sells signal operations for traffic infrastructure to Balfour Beatty Rail Saab Communication has signed an agreement with Balfour Beatty Rail that means that Saab will transfer the Nordic signal operations for traffic infrastructure to Balfour Beatty Rail from 1 February 2007. Saab's signal operations have 30 employees split between Arboga and Borlänge. Saab Communication's signal operations supply complete and one off contracts as well as services within the signal and communication area for traffic infrastructure. " Balfour Beatty is a good purchaser for the Nordic signal operations because Balfour Beatty's existing core operations are within the area of traffic infrastructure and the signal operations will complement their core operations well, while maintaining continued positive development. In addition, for Saab Communication, the deal means continued concentration on operations for robust communication in the defence and public security sector areas", says Thomas Eriksson, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Saab Communication. Saab is one of the world's leading high-technology companies, with its main operations focusing on defence, aviation, space and civil security. The group covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems integration.
