SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Paul Mueller Company (Pink Sheets:MUEL) is pleased to announce the completion and successful start-up of its totally redesigned manufacturing line at its Osceola, Iowa plant. The redesign included investment in new capital equipment and automation, building structure upgrades, and a new state-of-the-art manufacturing flow. This investment is part of Paul Mueller Company's continuing effort to service the growing needs of its customers.
During 2006, Paul Mueller Company increased the direct labor work force by over 60% at its Springfield, Missouri plant; and at its Iowa facility, new hires during 2006 were over 6% of the direct labor workforce. To support the current backlog and order entry trends, Paul Mueller Company plans to consult Iowa and Missouri State Economic Development agencies as to possible incentives to increase its labor force Company-wide by another 20% in 2007.
