Final result of the rights issue of Sponda

According to the final result of the rights issue of Sponda Plc, approximately
31.6 million shares, equalling approximately 99.5 percent of all the shares
offered, were subscribed for based on the subscription rights. Approximately
5,200 investors participated in the offering.

The joint global coordinators of the offering have also procured purchasers for
all the approximately 160,000 shares that were not subscribed for based on the
subscription rights. The average sale price amounted to approximately 11.83 euros
per share. The joint global coordinators shall pay the net proceeds of the sale
(proceeds from the sale of the remaining offer shares less the subscription price
of 7.80 euros per share, the fees of the joint global coordinators, transfer tax
and other costs) to the holders of the unexercised rights that had entitled the
holders thereof to subscribe for such remaining offer shares. It is expected that
the net proceeds will be paid on or about 13 February 2007.

The Board of Directors of Sponda has today approved all the subscriptions. The
gross proceeds raised by Sponda in the offering were approximately 247 million
euros prior to deduction of fees and expenses. Following the registration of the
increase in the share capital as a result of the offering, Sponda's registered
share capital will be 111,030,185 euros and will consist of 111,030,185 shares.
All shares subscribed for have been paid for in full. The shares subscribed for
will entitle their holders to full dividends declared by Sponda and all other
rights in the company conferred by the shares after the increase in the share
capital has been registered with the Trade Register.

The interim shares, representing the shares subscribed for in the offering,
commenced trading on 5 February 2007 on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. The increase
in the share capital based on the offering will be registered with the Finnish
Trade Register and the interim shares will be combined with Sponda's existing
shares on 9 February 2007.
