Fire at Kemira GrowHow nitric acid plant in Belgium

Kemira GrowHow's plant in Tertre, Belgium suffered a fire incident
on February 3, 2007. The fire happened at the nitric acid factory.
The fire was contained inside the plant and there weren't any human injuries
or environmental incidents. Other buildings in the area remained safe
and the two other nitric acid plants at the area continue production normally.

The fire caused production interruptions that will last approximately
ten weeks according to preliminary estimates. The incident cannot be
evaluated more closely at the moment. The nitric acid plant is insured
for property damage and business interruptions.

The production interruptions will reduce fertilizer production at Tertre
by approximately one fourth during the shut-down. The interruptions won't
influence industrial customers.
