The Kesko Group sales were up by 10.6% in January
The Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, in January 2007 totalled
724.0 million, an increase of 10.6% over the corresponding period
last year.
Kesko Food's sales in January totalled 285.1 million and were up
by 10.9%. The sales to the K-food store chains progressed
particularly well (+13.4%).
Rautakesko's sales in January grew by 23.5% to 163.8 million.
Sales in Finland were 63.7 million, up 17.7%. Abroad, sales
increased by 27.5%. Sales growth in the Baltic countries was 37.8%
and in Russia 63.1%.
VV-Auto's sales in January were 104.2 million, which is down by
4.8% on last year. In Finland, the number of first registrations
of passenger cars dropped by 8.4% The market share of brands
represented by VV-Auto was 15.2% (16.8%) in January.
Anttila's sales in January were 41.4 million, a slight decline
over the previous year
(-0.7%). The sales were affected by more moderate end-of-season
sales after a strong Christmas period compared with the previous
year, and by the mail order catalogues coming out later than the
year before.
Kesko Agro's sales in January were 50.2 million, up 4.2%. Sales
in Finland grew by 18.0% due to the tractor, implement and
fertilizer trade. The sales trend in the Baltic countries (-20.8%)
was affected by weaker grain trade compared with the previous
year.
The total sales from other operations in January were 92.9
million and were up by 14.0%. Other operations consist of
Konekesko, Kauko-Telko, Indoor Group, Intersport Finland, Musta
Pörssi, WellStep and Tähti Optikko Group.

Starting from 1 March 2006, VV-Auto's sales figures include the
sales of the new Volkswagen and Audi retail outlets acquired.
Change, % indicates the percentage change over the comparable
period of the previous year.
In January 2007, the number of trading days in Keskos wholesale
was 22, which was one more than in January 2006.
