MADRID, Spain, Feb. 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Telvent GIT S.A. (Nasdaq:TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, today announced the signing of several contracts with the Mexican energy company PEMEX, for a total value of more than nine million euros. Under these contracts, Telvent will provide the management platform for PEMEX's petroleum storage and distribution depots and upgrade several of the company's technological systems.
One of the projects comprises the supply of technology, licenses and maintenance of 25 storage and distribution depots (SIMCOT) at different locations in Mexico. Telvent's system, which is already installed at 70% of PEMEX's depots throughout the country, will provide the company with the control and automation functionalities required to operate each depot in a secure and efficient manner, and will control critical aspects such as the mixing of explosive substances and uninterrupted product supply.
Telvent will also upgrade the company's data acquisition and control systems (SCADA) and will supply advanced management applications for the management of oil and gas in the main Operation Centers of the Ku-Maloob-Zaap oil field, PEMEX's biggest oil and gas complex in the Gulf of Mexico. Telvent's technology will enable real-time monitoring by PEMEX of both the oil rig operation process and security.
