STOXX Changes Composition of European Benchmark Indexes

First Regular Quarterly Review to be Effective On March 19, 2007


ZURICH, Switzerland, Feb. 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- STOXX Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index, the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its sector indexes, the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on March 19, 2007 the following 14 stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: ADP (France, Industrial Goods & Services, EURONEXT: ADP), FAES FARMA (Spain, Health Care, SIBE: FAE), FONCIERE DES REGIONS (France, Financial Services, EURONEXT: FDR), GEORG FISCHER (Switzerland, Industrial Goods & Services, SWX: FI-N), GLITNIR BANKI HF (Iceland, Banks, OMX: GLB), KAUPTHING (Iceland, Financial Services, OMX: KAUP), KAZAKHMYS (United Kingdom, Basic Resources, LSE: KAZ), LANDSBANKI ISLANDS (Iceland, Banks, OMX: LAIS), MEDA AB A (Sweden, Health Care, OMX: MEDA A), PETROPLUS HOLDINGS AG (Switzerland, Oil & Gas, SWX: PPHN), RIETER (Switzerland, Industrial Goods & Services, SWX: RIEN), SCHWARZ PHARMA (Germany, Health Care, XETRA: SRZ), UNITED INTERNET (Germany, Technology, XETRA: UTDI) and WACKER CHEMIE (Germany, Chemicals, XETRA: WCH).

Companies exiting the index are: ANTENA 3 (Spain, Media, SIBE: A3TV), AUTOGRILL (Italy, Travel & Leisure, MIB: AGL), BB BIOTECH (Switzerland, Health Care, SWX: BIO), BIC (France, Personal & Household Goods, EURONEXT: BB), BURREN ENERGY (United Kingdom, Oil & Gas, LSE: BUR), CSR (United Kingdom, Technology, LSE: CSR), EUTELSAT COMMUNICATION (France, Technology, EURONEXT: ETL), MARFIN FINANCIAL GROUP (Greece, Banks, ATHEX: MRFKO), MAUREL ET PROM (France, Oil & Gas, EURONEXT: MAU), SAPRR (France, Industrial Goods & Services, EURONEXT: ARR), STORK (Netherlands, Industrial Goods & Services, EURONEXT: STO), STRAUMANN (Switzerland, Health Care, SWX: STMN), SUEDZUCKER (Germany, Food & Beverage, XETRA: SZU) and VALIANT R (Switzerland, Banks, SWX: VATN).

The sector classifications for the following Dow Jones STOXX 600 components will change: ALTANA (Germany) from Health Care to Chemicals and KAUPTHING (Iceland) from Financial Services to Banks.

As of January 31, 2007 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 increased to EUR 7,211.41 billion from EUR 6,806.09 billion and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index to EUR 7,750.20 billion from EUR 7,303.04 billion.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index are also part of this regular quarterly review. The new composition of the indexes can be found at http://www.stoxx.com/news/reviews.html

As of January 31, 2007 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index increased to EUR 21,662.89 billion from EUR 20,881.08 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index increased to EUR 106.88 billion from EUR 85.70 billion.

The composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged. The total free-float market capitalization of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index increased to EUR 980.88 million from EUR 955.31 million.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on March 14, 2007 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on March 19, 2007.
