Gary M. Dortona Joins SPAR Group as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing


TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Feb. 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- SPAR Group, Inc. today announced that Gary Dortona has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

Dortona assumes responsibility for the marketing and sales of SPAR Group's full line of products and services, including in-store merchandising and event staffing, the company's proprietary Demopod system, RFID and more.

With more than 20 years of relevant experience within the retail and retail-merchandising industry, Dortona most recently served as Director, National Accounts for In-Store Broadcasting Network in Salt Lake City. Previously, he held a 13 year career with News America Marketing & ActMedia in various roles with increasing responsibility, most recently as Senior Vice President of Northeast Sales for the advertising division and Group Senior Vice President, Divisional Sales Manager for the western division.

Dortona also served as a Senior Account Executive for The Seiler/Sodehxo Corporation in Waltham, MA, and was District Manager for The E&J Gallo Winery in Modesto, CA. Dortona began his career in sales and retail merchandising with The Procter & Gamble Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI.
