LONDON, Feb. 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- CO2 Tech (Pink Sheets:CTTD) President, Ms. Helga Schotten, today announced that CO2 Tech has developed a combined aqueous and vapor-phase carbon adsorption software application that operates under Microsoft Windows(r) environment.
Carbon adsorption is a remediation technology in which pollutants are removed from air by physical adsorption onto activated carbon grains. Carbon is "activated" for this purpose by processing the carbon to create porous particles with a large internal surface area (300 to 2,500 square meters or 3,200 to 27,000 square feet per gram of carbon) that attracts and adsorbs organic molecules as well as certain metal and inorganic molecules.
The application generates a correlation curve to determine the activated carbon adsorption capacity. When parameters such as molecular weight, solubility, refractive index are entered, the application calculates vapor and aqueous capacities from a single component, up to eleven multiple miscible liquid components. Entering the necessary parameters into the software can help to provide AC feasibility, and estimate the refractive index of molecules whose bonds are entered into the software.
