NEW YORK, Feb. 14, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq:JBLU) is making it easier than ever to jet off to the surf and sand of Nantucket this summer with the launch of new nonstop service from its hometown hub at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, beginning May 24. The low-fare, high-value airline will offer convenient daily service to the popular Massachusetts island resort for the peak season through September 24(b), with additional weekend flights operating throughout the summer.

To celebrate the introduction of JetBlue's service to the island, the award-winning airline is offering a special fare of $49(a) each way for nonstop flights between New York and Nantucket. Regular fares between New York and Nantucket will range from $79(a) to $279(a) each way. Easy connections to Nantucket from other cities including Charlotte, NC; Richmond, VA; and Buffalo and Syracuse, NY, are available via New York/JFK for a low introductory fare of $74(a) each way.

"New Yorkers love to summer in Nantucket, and this year we're making it easier than ever to get there. Leave your car at home, skip the long ferry ride, and hop aboard one of our conveniently-timed JetBlue flights," said JetBlue Founder and CEO David Neeleman. "We look forward to welcoming you to Nantucket in comfort and style."

In addition to new seasonal nonstop service on JetBlue from New York/JFK to Nantucket, JetBlue customers will gain year-round access to Nantucket and other Cape and Islands destinations through a new marketing partnership announced today between JetBlue and Massachusetts-based airline Cape Air. Beginning March 19, 2007, JetBlue will place its code on flights operated by Cape Air, allowing customers to book travel on a single itinerary between the Cape and Islands and 20 JetBlue destinations that connect in Boston(c). This partnership offers customers low fares, one-stop reservations, simplified baggage check-in and transfer, frequent flier benefits, and fast same-terminal connections beginning March 19, 2007.

"We are so excited to welcome Cape Air's newest partner -- JetBlue -- to Nantucket," said Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tracy Bakalar. "New York is a significant market for the island. One-third of our summer visitors originate from the New York area, and now JetBlue has put the 'Faraway Land' well within their reach."
