Emulex Announces Availability of 4Gb/s PCI Express HBAs for HP Integrity Servers

Company Delivers LightPulse LPe1150 Single-Channel and LPe11002 Dual-Channel HBAs to Connect HP Integrity rx3600 and rx6600 to Storage Area Networks

COSTA MESA, Calif., Feb. 15, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that its LightPulse(r) 4Gb/s LPe11002 dual channel and LPe1150 single channel Fibre Channel PCI Express Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) are now shipping with HP Integrity rx6600 and rx3600 servers running Linux and Windows. Emulex single- and dual-channel 4Gb/s HBAs are also qualified to support storage area network (SAN) connectivity for the HP StorageWorks family of arrays. The Emulex LPe11002 (HP A8003A) and LPe1150 (HP A8002A) PCI Express 4Gb/s HBAs provide systems with higher performance, a wide range of SAN connectivity options and can be ordered today through HP or its authorized channels, distributors, and resellers.

Additionally, customers can leverage Emulex's HBA management suite, HBAnyware(r) to simplify HBA management for the entire SAN, saving time and money, because HBAnyware allows users to deploy Emulex's common HBA infrastructure across servers with PCI Express and PCI-X slots.

"Emulex provides a wide variety of HBAs available for HP server and storage connectivity, which validates Emulex's leadership and long-term relationship with HP," said Mike Smith, executive vice president of worldwide marketing for Emulex. "The Emulex 4Gb/s PCI Express and PCI-X HBAs provide end users with a robust selection of best-in-class SAN connectivity solutions."

The HP Integrity rx6600 and rx3600 are powerful entry-class server platforms designed to be highly expandable and offering customers mission-critical workload consolidation and virtualization capabilities. HP Integrity entry-class servers, which are ideal for attaching to networked storage through Emulex SAN connectivity solutions, offer price and performance for mid-sized companies with growing data center demands.

"The combination of Integrity servers with our HP StorageWorks family of disk arrays ensures that customers have superior scalability within SAN attached environments and an efficient, scalable IT infrastructure that is more agile and responsive to changing business demands," said Michelle Weiss, vice president of marketing, Business Critical Systems, HP. "Our work with Emulex makes it easier for customers to install, configure and manage the large number of servers and arrays found in an enterprise-class SAN."

Today's announcement is a continuation of Emulex's support for the HP Integrity line of servers. The company announced in September 2005 that the Emulex LightPulse 4Gb/s LPe11002 dual channel and LPe1150 single channel PCI Express HBAs were integrated into HP ProLiant families running on Linux and Windows.
