Grill Concepts Reports Strong Comparable Sales for Fourth Quarter and Full Year

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Grill Concepts, Inc. (Nasdaq:GRIL), which operates The Grill on the Alley and Daily Grill-branded restaurants, today reported preliminary same store sales increases of 17.5 percent for its fiscal fourth quarter ended December 31, 2006 and 10.1 percent for the full year.

Fiscal 2006 was a 53-week year for the company, with an additional week in the fourth quarter, while fiscal 2005 was a 52-week year. Based on a 52-week comparison, the company's consolidated preliminary same store sales were 9.4 percent for the fourth quarter and 7.9 percent for fiscal 2006. The Grill on the Alley restaurants recorded 15.1 percent and 12.3 percent increases in comparable sales for the fourth quarter and full year, and the Daily Grill restaurants posted same store sales gains of 5.9 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively.
