UPDATE -- Junior League of Orange County 'Golf Tournament by the Sea' to be Held At Monarch Beach Golf Links

Funds Raised by the Event Will Support a Host of Area Charitable Organizations


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The public is invited to play on one of Southern California's most prestigious courses at the Annual Golf Tournament by the Sea presented by the Junior League of Orange County, Calif. (JLOCC) and Dacor, the maker of exceptional kitchen appliances. The event will be held at the Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, Calif., on March 30, 2007, and all proceeds will go to support the JLOCC's programs and projects. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; Tee Off is at 1:00 p.m. Lunch, donated by Panera Bread, will be served on the club patio prior to play.

A live auction and buffet dinner will be held at the resort's restaurant, Club 19, at 6:00 p.m. Live Auction items include a "Group Dinner Experience," in which guests will be wined and dined at the Dacor Test Kitchen in Diamond Bar, a trip to the Hilton Waikoloa Village, a $1,000 shopping spree at the Monarch Beach Pro Shop, and golf foursomes at Newport Beach Country Club and Dove Canyon. One hundred opportunity drawing prizes will also be available. All golfers will receive complimentary Nike Golf Wear and a fun goody bag filled with treats from local and national retailers. Cost to participate is $350 per person; $1,400 per foursome.

Tee signs made from high quality cherry wood are available for purchase and funds will go to support the JLOCC's programs and projects. After being displayed on the greens during the tournament, they will be presented to donors as a memento and gesture of gratitude. Monarch Beach Golf Links is located at 22 Monarch Beach Resort North, Dana Point, CA. Funds raised at the event will be used to benefit JLOCC's charitable projects including Orange County Bar Foundation, Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center, Casa Teresa Inc., Girls Inc., YMCA of Orange County, and Bear Hugs. The organization also awards thousands of dollars in grants and scholarships each year. As a solely educational and charitable organization, the JLOCC's trained volunteers actively support the community through collaboration with organizations that promote and support the health, safety and education of women and children.
