GlobeTel Communications' Sanswire Networks' 2A Technology Demonstrator Scheduled for Sunday Float Test of Critical Components

PALMDALE, Calif., March 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Sanswire Networks LLC, a subsidiary of GlobeTel Communications Corp. (Pink Sheets:GTEM) announced that the testing schedule for its Sanswire 2A Technology Demonstrator Stratellite(tm) calls for additional open-air tethered testing on Sunday, March 4, pending favorable weather conditions.

In addition to once again evaluating balance and buoyancy results, critical components of the airship that will be examined specifically include the avionics control box, which controls the fins, rudders and elevators; the motors and propellers; and the systems management computer.

Previously, the 2A Technology Demonstrator was floated in order to demonstrate the air to ground wireless broadband capabilities, via the proprietary HotZone technology. Invited guests tested the system by using a DECT standard cordless telephone to place calls that were routed through GlobeTel's StrateVoIP voice over IP platform.

"Our goals on Sunday will be to test the movement of components controlled by avionics, the spinning of propellers and communication with the systems management computer," stated Doug Murch, Sanswire President. "Prior to the last test, we experienced burnout of a wire harness which although a critical component, was not part of our demonstration of communications capability. We will be focusing on the integrity of all harnesses, and as usual, all braces and rods that constitute the framework of our airship."

Peter Khoury, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeTel Communications, stated, "A number of parties interested in our airship development process, including the Stratellite(tm), have been invited to view the testing and demonstrations. We anticipate discussing the strides that Doug Murch and his team have made in bringing this project along from its concept stage, and in what the future holds for our airship products."

About The Stratellite(tm)

A Stratellite(tm) stationed in the stratosphere, at 65,000 feet, will be able to provide state-of-the-art communications to areas that either don't currently have the infrastructure to support such services, or are unable to support a terrestrial-based infrastructure due to topography. Additionally, a Stratellite(tm) can be used to supplement communications services in areas where infrastructure has been damaged by natural or man-made disasters. Lower altitude, shorter duration airships more closely resembling the Sanswire 2A are envisioned to be able to provide communications in times of emergency or could be used for border patrol, surveillance, and as a communications bridge to naval battle groups or between ground troops.

About Sanswire Networks LLC

Sanswire Networks is focused on the construction of the Stratellite(tm), a specialized airship capable of carrying payloads that transmit various types of wireless communications. Placing a communications platform into the stratosphere is an idea that can fundamentally change how the world delivers wireless telecommunications, and the way we communicate.
