New equity indexes and the implementation of OMX name standard for Icelandic indexes
As of April 2 the companies listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Iceland will be presented on the common Nordic list. At the same time, the Icelandic companies will be included in the Nordic indexes. In connection with the inclusion, the Icelandic equity indexes will adopt new names according to the OMX name standard.
The Nordic list indexes include the Nordic All-Share indexes, Nordic List Segment indexes and Nordic Sector indexes. The OMX Nordic Segment indexes comprise of the three market capitalization groups, Large Cap, Mid Cap and Small Cap. In addition to the introduction of Icelandic shares into the Nordic indexes, local Mid Cap and Small Cap segment indexes and local sector total return (gross) indexes will be launched on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Iceland. All new indexes will be calculated in Icelandic Krona (ISK) and as price and gross indexes.
The name and code changes of the ICEX indexes will take effect on April 2 to meet the OMX index name standard. The index codes start with OMX followed by letters which indicate the OMX exchange in question. The Icelandic indexes will start with OMXI where the "I" stands for Iceland. A list of the new indexes and codes is attached to this notice.
ICEX15CAP
There will be a change to the capping method of the ICEX15CAP (OMXI15CAP) index. Currently the capping is based on the closing values on Thursday and the capping is effective on Monday. From April 2. the capping will be based on the closing values on Friday. The capping will take affect on Monday like in the current method. Capping limits are unchanged.
Index value dissemination
As of April 2 the index values for all Icelandic indexes except the OMXI15 indexes will be disseminated every 60 seconds. The OMXI15 indexes will be disseminated in real-time (updates every second).
Weight reports
Morning and evening weight reports are available for all indexes. The format of the index weight reports for Icelandic indexes will be the standard OMX format. For further information or to subscribe to the index weight reports please contact MDS@omxgroup.com
