An Exciting Story of a Civil War Rifleman -- Author Jim Brannon Weaves a Fascinating Blend of History, Civil War, and Fiction

LAKE NEBAGAMON, Wis., March 5, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- A young Iowa farm boy who is skilled with the rifle is thrown into the maelstrom of the Civil War in the west along the Mississippi River. Complications arise when he faces against his uncle and cousin fighting for the Confederacy. Follow as the exciting events unfold in the compelling story, "Sarn't Jamey Doan: A Civil War Rifleman" written by Jim Brannon.

Jamey Doan is an Iowa farmer who developed his skills with the rifle that his gunsmith father made for him. When the Civil War breaks out, he joins in the fight, even if at times his family is his enemy, like an uncle and cousin who fight on the side of the Confederacy. Jamey's first battle is the little known northern-most battle of the Civil War, at Athens, Missouri. He battles his way down to Vicksburg, fighting as a sniper and skirmisher in the Western Rifles. Jamey grasps the meaning of war and fights ferociously. Though he becomes a man of war, he is a boy when he discovers love and the mysteries of women. "Sarn't Jamey Doan" stops at Vicksburg as the Union army moves south and leaves readers fervently waiting for this book's exciting sequel.
