ASPO CHEMICALS GROWS THROUGH ACQUISITION

Aspokem Ltd, a subsidiary of Aspo Plc, acquires the entire capital
stock of the Danish Wilfert Chemical Nordic A/S. Wilfert delivers
plastic raw materials in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The
company was established in 1984, and it employs 11 persons. Last
year, the company's net sales were approximately EUR 21 million, and
operating profit approximately EUR 0.6 million. Business operations
will be transferred to the buyer immediately, and Aspokem will
consolidate them from the beginning of the year.

The purchase price is approximately EUR 4 million, of which goodwill
and other intangible assets account for approximately EUR 2 million.
20% of the purchase price will be paid in Aspo Plc shares. The seller
is the Danish Wilfert Holding Aps.

The transaction is expected to have a positive impact on Aspokem's
earnings both in the short-term and long-term."The Wilfert transaction is an important step for Aspokem. We will
gain a permanent foothold in Scandinavia and we will be able to serve
customers in the area with a wide range of products. We will also get
competent staff who have long-term experience in the Scandinavian
markets as well as good relationships with international principals",
says Aspokem's President Jari Ranne."Aspo Chemicals Division has systematically extended its presence in
the Baltic region. In the Eastern markets, organic growth is fast,
and the steady Scandinavian markets offer a solid ground to develop
our logistics and cost-efficiency. This will further increase our
attractiveness as an interesting distributor for the products of our
international principals", says Aspo's CEO Gustav Nyberg.

The Aspo Chemicals Division consists of Aspokem and its subsidiaries.
They distribute, store and market chemicals and plastics in Finland,
Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. The division
engages in processing activities in Finland and Latvia. Aspokem is
also engaged in East-West chemical trading. The Aspokem Group's net
sales in 2006 totaled EUR 89.1 million and the operating profit was
EUR 2.7 million.

Aspo Group focuses on logistical services for industry. Aspo serves
businesses in the energy and industrial process sectors requiring
strong specialist and logistical know-how. Aspo's net sales in 2006
totaled EUR 225.9 million. About 39% of this came from Aspo
Chemicals, 37% from Aspo Shipping and 24% from Aspo Systems.
