LogMeIn Grows 500 Percent in 12 Months, Eclipses 15 Million Users

1.5 Million More Choose LogMeIn to Connect to Their Digital Lives Every Month

WOBURN, Mass., March 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- More than 15 million people now use LogMeIn to access their documents, applications, music and photos -- as well as to support digital devices -- making LogMeIn the world's most widely used remote connectivity and support services provider.

LogMeIn added close to 12 million users in the past year alone -- a 500 percent growth rate -- and is now adding more than 1.5 million users each month.

In less than three years since launching LogMeIn Free -- the first commercially supported, free, web-based remote access service -- the company has come to dominate the remote access industry with the size of its global user base, and has moved onto the broader challenge of serving connectivity, digital living and the small business computer and device support markets.

"Two trends are taking hold: the proliferation and variety of devices that are part of our digital lives such as laptops, iPods, PDAs and cell phones (and soon home entertainment, cars, and who knows what) and the increasing desire that these devices be mobile -- off a traditional corporate environment," said Michael Simon, CEO of LogMeIn, speaking today from the Montgomery Technology Conference in Sacramento, Calif. "There is a burgeoning need to connect these edge devices not just to the center, but to each other -- that's where LogMeIn comes in -- connecting hard to reach devices, no matter where they are."

Simon continued on the need to support all of these devices: "An industry of IT professionals and small businesses has also grown to service these hard-to-reach devices in corporate and consumer environments, and LogMeIn is enabling many of these professionals to provide seamless remote support without leaving their desks."

"Remote access and remote support services such as the LogMeIn family of products provide a valuable service by allowing individuals and businesses to access their desktops from anywhere they can connect to the Internet," said Stacy Sudan, research analyst in IDC's Mobile Enterprise Software program. "There continues to be an increased need in the market for these solutions that support the needs of mobile professionals."

"Individuals, small business and corporations are increasingly looking to the Internet as an operating system. They seek the same services from the 'cloud' as they seek from their hard drive and client or device platform. By moving more of their assets to, and deriving more of their services from, the Internet -- for both computing and communications -- the more flexibility, interoperability and extensibility they have for their work and entertainment." said Dana Gardner, principal analyst, Interarbor Solutions. "LogMeIn's growth patterns show the increasing ease and trust users have with the Internet and Web-based service providers as their functional partners for digital work and play."
