Sierra Gold Corporation's Bulk Sampling Program Consistently Shows More Than Double the Depths of Gold Pay Gravel

TORONTO, March 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Sierra Gold Corporation (Pink Sheets:SGCP) has been continuing to do bulk sampling work on the Pampana North property. All of the pits tested thus far have consistently shown more than double the depths of the gold-bearing gravel than those reported by US Mining Engineer, Mike Manke and Geologist, Alieu Madhi.

Sierra Gold commissioned Mr. Madhi to do a report on the potential gold values of the Pampana North property. The report estimates the gold reserves to be just over 936,000 ounces. Madhi's report is based on extensive bulk sampling work completed by the National Diamond Mining Corporation of (NDMC), a Sierra Leone government operated mining company. He combined figures from Manke's report with work done by NDMC. Manke's gold grades were over three times higher than the grades used by Madhi to calculate the gold reserves. Mr. Madhi (BSc, MSc) holds degrees in Geology and Engineering Geology from England. He worked as a Chief Geologist for NDMC on several of their projects.

The company will continue its comprehensive testing program to further corroborate recent findings. Initial bulk sampling tests have produced higher gold grades than the gold grades found in both reports. Samples are presently being collected and will be sent to SGS Laboratories in Canada for testing at the end of March.

Sierra Gold is engaged in the exploration and development of gold and diamond properties in West Africa. The company will continue to conduct extensive research and development of high quality mineral exploration properties.
