Neoware Expands Reach Into Virtualization Market; Launches Industry's First Mobile Virtual Desktop Thin Client Solution

New Solution Serves as Neoware's Entry Into the Fast Growing Virtualization Market

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., March 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Neoware, Inc. (Nasdaq:NWRE), a leading provider of thin client computing solutions, today announced the launch of the industry's first mobile virtual desktop thin client solution, an initiative that expands the company's reach into the rapidly growing virtualization market. The new solution is the most comprehensive line of personal computer virtualization devices available. Featuring virtual desktop-ready editions of its most popular thin client devices, the new products are fully compatible with leading virtual personal computer initiatives, including VMware's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), IBM's Virtual Client solution (VCS), and Citrix's Dynamic Desktop Initiative (DDI).

The new product line for this initiative includes special editions of the Neoware c50 and Neoware e140 thin client devices, as well as the Neoware m100 mobile thin client. All of these products are available with either the Linux(r) or Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XPe operating systems.

Even Neoware's entry-level VDI-ready devices with the Linux operating system come with 128 MB of flash memory installed, ensuring that users have access to greater built-in resources, and that the devices are future-proofed as customers add capability and adopt emerging virtualization technologies. Competing products deliver only 32 MB of flash on their entry-level devices.

"The rise of virtualization technology in the corporate enterprise has given way to a new breed of thin client solutions that provide enterprises with tremendous advantages over traditional personal computers," said Klaus Besier, CEO of Neoware. "As the first to market with a mobile virtual desktop thin client solution, Neoware has taken a significant step in driving the adoption of personal computer virtualization and the evolution of thin client computing. We will continue to leverage virtualization technology to provide our customers with the most cost-effective and reliable thin client solutions available."

Personal computer virtualization brings together the application and infrastructure control that IT managers seek, with the familiar PC environment that end-users want in a more efficient manner. Virtual computing means that desktops and mobile devices can make for a more robust, and more accessible computing environment.

"We deliberately set out to create the most extensive and appealing personal computer virtualization solution available, with a very attractive entry-level price point," said Bill Bredbenner, vice president of Product Management at Neoware. "These devices mean that users have better and faster access to the applications they need, and IT departments can better manage the pressure on their datacenters -- all while maintaining the security, cost and management benefits our thin client solutions provide."

All the new Neoware thin client devices included in this offering provide support for Microsoft(r) RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) and the latest version of Citrix(r) ICA, and are compatible with the leading connection brokers from Leostream(r) and Propero(r).

The Neoware devices are also Citrix(r) Ready(tm), and compatible with the Citrix Dynamic Desktop Initiative.

These devices are available now from Neoware and its network of channel partners for list prices that start at $279.
