The Rockwool Group expands in North America

The board of Rockwool International A/S has today approved the building of a new
production line which will significantly expand the Rockwool Group's activities
in North America. The new line will be placed in connection with the existing
factory in Milton, Ontario, which is close to Toronto. The Rockwool Group also
operates a factory in Grand Forks, British Columbia in the South-Western part of
Canada.

The new production line will more than double the Group's production capacity in
North America and give jobs to an additional 100 employees. It will offer a full
building insulation product assortment including roof boards which have formerly
not been produced in North America.

The start of production is expected in the first quarter of 2009. The total
investment is approx. EUR 90 million (CAD 137 million). The investment is
supported by an interest free loan of EUR 6.6 million (CAD 10 million) from the
Province off Ontario's Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy (AMIS). This
program is designed to increase the number of companies adopting leading-edge
technology.

The North American investment is part of the Rockwool Group's ambitious
expansion plan. In November 2006, the Group announced that five major capacity
expansion investments were considered for start-up. In December, a new
production line in Poland was announced and with the new Canadian line, two out
of five investments have now been published.
