Northrop Grumman Wins Defense Department IT Infrastructure Support Task Order


MCLEAN, Va., March 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a task order to help maintain a secure and accessible information technology operating environment for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

Under the Encore I contract, Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will provide logistics support, help desk services, server administration, network and security engineering, and application program support to the OSD.

"This task order allows us to apply our expertise in IT infrastructure support and information assurance to provide the U.S. Department of Defense with reliable, user-friendly enterprise applications," said Linda Mills, president of Northrop Grumman IT's Civilian Agencies group.

With this contract, Northrop Grumman becomes a primary provider of systems and technologies, and IT infrastructure support services to the highly classified OSD operating environment.

Work on the contract will be performed in Arlington, Va.

Northrop Grumman was one of eight companies awarded the Encore I indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract in March 2002 by the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Northrop Grumman's teammates on the task order are EyeIT.com, Alexandria, Va.; Mountain Valley, Inc., Dayton, Md.; Netservices, LLC, Centreville, Va.; Quality Systems Management, Inc., Annandale, Va.; and SYS Technologies, San Diego, Calif.
