Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation Appoints Claude Oliver Chairman of the Government Affairs Advisory Board

KENNEWICK, Wash., March 22, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Long-time community member and elective office-holder Claude L. Oliver has joined Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation (AMIC) (Pink Sheets:ADMD) in the role of Chairman of the Government Affairs Advisory Board. Oliver will continue in his elected capacity as Benton County Commissioner.

Oliver has a background in public service, including serving as President of Citizens for Medical Isotopes as well as four years in the Washington State House of Representatives, 15 years as Benton County Treasurer, and over 10 years as a Benton County Commissioner. Prior to becoming an elected official, for 8 years Oliver was a Commercial Agricultural Banker with Seattle First National Bank (now Bank of America).

During November 2000, at the request of several influential labor and business leaders within our community, in his role as County Commissioner, Claude was asked to assist in organizing our community in hopes to prevent the destruction of U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) facilities capable of producing medical isotopes. As of March 2007, those facilities are under consideration by the USDOE for use in the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP), (please see www.gnep.energy.gov). Oliver notes, "Our community initiative to stop the destruction of those facilities has been accomplished."

Advanced Medical Isotopes Corporation has a vision to become a leading producer of diagnostic and therapeutic medical isotopes, as well as assisting to advance medical research studies.

President Jim Katzaroff states that, "With Claude's public service background, and his passionate and persistent pleadings to the leaders of our country to comprehend the scientific as well as the physical resources inherent in our local region, I am most pleased to welcome him to the team. By bringing together world-class scientists and researchers with our locally available first-class facilities and technologies, the vision to build a world class medical isotope center in our region is moving forward with alacrity."
