Radyne's Xicom Technology Division Receives $1.4 Million Ka-band Amplifier Order

PHOENIX, March 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Radyne Corporation (Nasdaq:RADN) announced today that its Xicom Technology division received a follow-on procurement order for $1.4 million for Ka-band power amplifiers to be used in terminals for the U.S. Air Force's Wideband Global System (previously known as Wideband Gapfiller) constellation of satellites.

Each WGS satellite, the first of which will launch this summer, will be capable of offering more than 10 times the communications capacity of the predecessor DSCS III Military Satellites. The increased satellite capacity is expected to drive increased X-band and Ka-band amplifier sales to military users. Xicom's Ka-band amplifiers lead the industry in reliability and advanced features.

"This order demonstrates continued market demand for Xicom's Ka-band amplifiers, which represent a key growth area for the company," said Myron Wagner, Radyne's CEO. "As the military begins to ramp up hardware procurement to utilize the WGS Satellites, Xicom will continue to provide leading-edge products that meet customer needs."
