Over the coming 10-12 years Køge Municipality and Aarsleff in partnering are to extend a large area around Køge Harbour at an estimated value of DKK 950 million. The extensive construction work is part of Køge Municipality's plan for the near-shore areas at the harbour. The harbour itself is currently under heavy development and the extension possibilities for the industrial and harbour areas are limited. Therefore, a 40-hectare landfill consisting of polluted soil from the Greater Copenhagen area will be established. Furthermore a new and bigger dock will be established. The coming contracting works around the harbour comprise, among other things: • Establishing and running the landfill. • Receipt of two million cubic metres of lightly and medium polluted soil to constitute the 40-hectare fill. • Establishing two new jetties and driving of sheet piles to enclose the landfill. • Extension and improvement of the recreational areas to the north and south of Køge Harbour. The final closing of contract does not give rise to a change in the outlook for the profit for the financial year 2006/2007.
