In on one of the most important on environmental issues to reach the Supreme Court in decades, the Supreme Court ruled that the federal government has the authority to regulate greenhouse gases linked to global warming. The recent decision is the first high court decision in a case that involves climate change. Court cases around the country had been held up to await the decision in this case, and the decision is likely to have a broader impact on the debate over government efforts to address global warming.
