Metso to Supply a Metal Recycling Plant to GDE Group in France


HELSINKI, Finland, April 4, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Metso Minerals will supply a metal recycling plant to GDE Group for its Limay metal recycling site in France. The delivery will be completed by the end of third quarter 2008. The value of the order is approximately EUR 8 million. The delivery is included in the first quarter order backlog.

The order comprises a complete metal recycling plant equipped with a shredder of 6,000 hp driving power, and also includes erection and commissioning services.

Metso's solution is for a new scrap yard Limay located along the River Seine, 80 km west of Paris. This new plant will be the most powerful metal recycling plant in the continental Europe installed by Metso. When it reaches its nominal capacity, the site will produce 300,000 tonnes ferrous products and 30,000 tonnes of non-ferrous products annually.

The GDE Group is currently one of the leading recycling companies in France where it has more than 30 operating sites. Its net sales are over EUR 600 million and it employs approximately 900 people.
