Scania has acquired its Portuguese distributor

Scania has reached an agreement with Cimpomóvel Veículos Pesados, S.A. to
acquire its truck and bus distribution system in Portugal from April this year.
The transaction covers a nationwide sales and service network, encompassing six
wholly owned dealerships. These operations have 250 employees.

“The transaction means that we are taking a step further in the value chain. It
also opens the way for greater co-ordination with our distribution network
elsewhere in Europe and thus greater synergies,” says Hans-Christer Holgersson,
Head of Sales and Services on Scania's Executive Board.

During 2006, Cimpomóvel Veículos Pesados, S.A. reported sales of EUR 72 m.
The sales totaled about 500 trucks and 50 buses, representing a market share of
13 respectively 18 percent.

“The aim with this acquisition is to further improve the support to the Scania
customers in Portugal, by meeting their need of a broad range of services - one
stop shopping,” Mr Holgersson says.
