Substantial increase in transshipment volumes of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd in the first quarter of 2007

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd, a subsidiary of the joint stock company
Ventspils nafta, in the first quarter of 2007 handled 3.3. million tons of
crude oil and petroleum products in total, which is by 1.6 million tons more
than in the corresponding period in 2006. Crude oil and petroleum products are
delivered to the terminal by railway, sea and diesel pipeline. 

From January to March this year, diesel accounted for the highest proportion of
the total structure of transhipped cargos. Volumes of transhipped diesel
reached 2.3 million tons while car petrol of different sorts amounted to 0.5
million tons and crude oil and petroleum products delivered by sea - to 0.4
million tons. Increase in cargo volumes at Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd could
be explained both by receiving of diesel by petroleum products pipeline, which
was successfully started at the beginning of 2007, and the effective
cooperation with Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited, a company of the
international oil trade consortium Vitol Group, which is a shareholder of JSC
Ventspils nafta and the co-owner of Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd. 

In March 2007, Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd handled 1.4 million tons of crude
oil and petroleum products, of which 0.9 million tons was diesel, 0.2 million
tons was petrol and 0.2 million tons - crude oil and petroleum products
delivered to the terminal by sea by tankers. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is a subsidiary of JSC Ventspils nafta, 51% of
which belongs to JSC Ventspils nafta, but 49% - to Vitol's company Euromin
Holdings. The terminal renders transit services - oil and gas oil receiving by
pipelines; oil, gas oil, car petrol and other petroleum product receiving by
railway and sea, their storage and transshipment. 

Ventspils nafta termināls Ltd is the largest among such companies in the
region, and its crude oil and petroleum products tank farm reaches 1.2 million
cubic metres and has no analogues among similar companies in the nearest
countries.
