LUNDIN PETROLEUM ANNOUNCES INDICATIVE PRICE RANGE OF VIKING OIL AND GAS INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING

Lundin Petroleum AB (Lundin Petroleum) is pleased to announce the indicative price range for the proposed initial public offering (the Offering) of Viking Oil and Gas ASA (Viking) on the Oslo Stock Exchange (the OSE).

The Offering consists of 150,000,001 shares of Viking to be sold by a subsidiary of Lundin Petroleum, at an indicative price range set at between NOK 38 and NOK 44 per share. This price range results in a total equity value for Viking of between NOK 11.4 billion and NOK 13.2 billion.

Members of the Lundin family have confirmed their intention to subscribe for a minimum of 10 million Viking shares in the Offering at the final offering price. In addition, Torstein Sanness, Chief Executive Officer of Viking, and Alan Curran, Chief Operating Officer of Viking, have confirmed their intention to each subscribe for 50,000 Viking shares in the Offering at the final offering price. Each of these subscriptions will be subject to final allocation in the Offering.

Lundin Petroleum and Viking expect to announce the final offer price on or about 26 April 2007. The final offer price may be set within, below or above the indicative price range. The first day of trading on the OSE under the ticker symbol "VIKING'' is expected to be 27 April 2007.

ABG Sundal Collier and Deutsche Bank have been appointed as Joint Global Co-ordinators and Joint Bookrunners, and DnB NOR Markets, SEB Enskilda and Öhman as Co-Lead Managers in connection with the Offering.

Viking Oil and Gas
Viking is an independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company whose activities are focused exclusively on the Norwegian Continental Shelf ("NCS") and the United Kingdom Continental Shelf ("UKCS"). Viking's assets include interests in four currently producing fields, Jotun on the NCS and Broom, Heather and Thistle which it operates on the UKCS. In addition, the Alvheim field on the NCS is expected to commence production in the late second quarter or early third quarter of 2007. The Group's licence interests also provide it with an extensive inventory of potential developments, discoveries and prospects. Forecast production from Viking assets in 2007 is greater than 20,000 boepd.
