HOUSTON, April 18, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY), North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, announced today that Lesley J. Woodard has been named president and chief executive officer of SYSCO Food Services of Quebec (Canada). Ms. Woodard, who is currently chief financial officer (CFO) of Canadian foodservice operations, will assume her new role effective July 1, 2007.
Ms. Woodard, 44, began her SYSCO career in 1995 as a member of the operations review department at the company's corporate headquarters in Houston, TX. In 1997 she transferred to the information technology department and supported SYSCO's broadline companies as they converted their financial software to the SYSCO Uniform System (SUS). Two years later, Ms. Woodard was promoted to controller at Sysco / Louisville Food Services Company. In 2001 she was appointed interim CFO of that company and in 2002 she was appointed to her current position. Prior to joining SYSCO, Ms. Woodard was associated with Baylor College of Medicine serving in the Internal Audit department.
A native of Wichita Falls, TX, Ms. Woodard earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, TX. She will relocate to the Montreal area in the near future.
