Junior League of Orange County Raises Close to $30,000 At Annual Golf Tournament by the Sea

JLOCC Spring Fundraiser Benefits Various Orange County Charities

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 24, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Golfers at the Junior League of Orange County, Calif. (JLOCC) Second Annual Golf Tournament by the Sea enjoyed a spectacular day on the exclusive course at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point on Friday, March 30. According to Event Chair Mara Hampton, the event raised close to $30,000 for various JLOCC-supported programs and projects while participants made the most of picture-perfect weather and, between plays, watched whales surfacing in the nearby ocean.

In-kind sponsor Panera Bread Bakery-Cafe of Newport Beach provided lunch prior to play; on-course beverages were courtesy of The Pepsi Bottling Group, Taco Bell, B2Beverage Company, Pavilions and Foster's Wine Estates. Cookies from French's Cupcake Bakery on 17th Street were distributed during the afternoon. Golfers competed for a chance to win a beautiful cherry red convertible provided by Downey Pontiac Buick GMC.

The day ended at Club 19 with an Italian buffet dinner reception for golfers and guests. Michael Joseph, Chief Executive Officer of Dacor, the event's title sponsor, received a bronze golfer statue as a token of gratitude for his company's support. A live auction offered a chance to win a "Group Dinner Experience" -- an opportunity to be wined and dined at the Dacor Test Kitchen in Diamond Bar. Other items auctioned included a Hawaiian getaway with accommodations at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, and a $1,000 shopping spree at the Monarch Beach Pro Shop. Entertainment, underwritten by Tristan and Brian Ritter, was provided The Todd Oliver Jazz Trio. Golfers left the tournament wearing sporty Nike Golf Wear, one of the tee prizes.
