SWECO Position has signed an agreement to acquire the Swedish GIS consulting
company SWEGIS, a total supplier of software and services for Geographic
Information Systems.

The acquisition will further strengthen SWECO Position's offering in the Swedish
consulting market for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). SWECO Position is
currently Sweden's leading independent provider of geographic IT solutions.

“This represents an important step in our development that will allow us to
advance our position in western Sweden. The acquisition will also provide
valuable experience and expertise in several key areas, particularly
applications development,” says Jan Zakariasson, Managing Director of SWECO
Position.
SWEGIS was established in 1997 and has an annual turnover of more than EUR
766,000. The company has 7 employees and works out of offices in Gothenburg. The

County Council, the National Road Administration, Värmlandstrafiken and a number
of Swedish municipalities. The company is also involved in several interesting
development projects in Norway.

”We are very pleased to be joining the SWECO team. There are many advantages in
being part of a large and growing company. Among other things, this will give us
the opportunity to develop even more competitive solutions,” says Mikael
Elmquist, Managing Director of SWEGIS.
