KYRO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 7.5.2007 10.40 a.m. KYRO SELLS ITS ENERGY BUSINESS AREA TO M-REAL Kyro Corporation has received from M-real Corporation, part of the Metsäliitto Group, a statement according to which M-real intends to exercise the right to purchase contained in a sale of business agreement between the companies relating Kyro's Energy business area. The transaction will be completed on 1 July 2007 in accordance with the terms and conditions concerning the right to purchase in an agreement signed on 29 September 2006. The purchase includes Kyro Power Oy's electricity- and heat-generating gas combi power plant and its operations, land areas (from which a part will be sold to Metsäliitto), as well as emission rights for the period 2007-2012. In connection with the arrangement, Kyro Power's personnel will transfer to M-real. The value of the deal to Kyro is an estimated EUR 14 million, which corresponds to the carrying amount of the operations being sold. In Kyro's January-March 2007 interim report to be published on 9 May 2007, the Energy business area will be classified as a discontinued operation.
