Entegris Responds to Pall Suit

Pall's Patent Suit is Part of An Ongoing Dispute Over Intellectual Property Rights

CHASKA, Minn., May 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Entegris, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTG) sees no merit in a law suit filed by Pall Corporation (NYSE:PLL) late Friday, May, 4, 2007 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The suit alleges that certain Entegris point-of-use filtration products used in semiconductor manufacturing infringe a newly issued Pall patent as well as three older Pall patents.

"As our customers can attest, innovation is at the core of our leadership in the market. Entegris takes great pains to respect the intellectual property of others and expects its competitors to do the same," said Peter Walcott, Senior Vice President and General Counsel. "While we have not yet been formally served in this matter, we were able to obtain a copy of the complaint from the Court for review. We believe that Pall's action is entirely without merit and we intend to vigorously defend our right to provide these products to solve our customers' photolithography filtration needs. "

Pall's action, which relates only to the U.S., asserts that "on information and belief" the Entegris Impact 2 and Impact Plus point-of-use photoresist filters infringe a patent issued to Pall on March 27, 2007 as well as three older patents. These products have been successful in the marketplace for a number of years and are covered by four U.S. patents held by Entegris. This is the fifth legal action between Entegris and Pall alleging infringement of various patents, including three actions initiated by Entegris or its predecessor in March 2003, April 2006 and August 2006 and one prior action initiated by Pall in December 2005. Entegris believes that it will ultimately prevail in each of these actions.
