Update: OutSystems Enters U.S. Market; Offers Free Version of Advanced Application Development and Management Platform

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 15, 2007 -- OutSystems Inc. today announced the general availability of the OutSystems Express Edition, a lightweight edition of the OutSystems Platform 4.1, free for up to five users that can be downloaded for commercial or independent developer use. The OutSystems Platform has been in use in Europe for several years by leading companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb, E.ON, Bosch, and Unilever, but has not been widely available in the U.S. market until now. Many customers have used OutSystems to rapidly build a large portfolio of applications, including building nine applications in nine months in one case, and to integrate with on-premise and on-demand application silos such as SAP, Oracle, salesforce.com and industry-specific systems.

The OutSystems Express Edition offers individuals, small IT departments or departmental IT teams a comprehensive Application Development and Management solution that enables them to rapidly develop and deploy business-specific applications in a matter of weeks instead of months on top of .NET or Java. It combines the productivity offered by visual modeling tools with the level of extensibility and customization found in integration suites or custom development frameworks.
