Delta Air Lines Continues to Grow Its West Coast Gateway to Latin America With New Non-Stop Flights From Los Angeles to Leon, Mexico


LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) will continue to grow its West Coast gateway to Mexico and Latin America at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with new non-stop flights to the Guanajuato city of Leon, Mexico effective July 1. The new flights to Leon are the latest addition to a series of more than 10 new non-stop Mexican destinations served by Delta and the Delta Connection carriers from Los Angeles.

Located in the geographic center of Mexico, Leon is the largest city in the state of Guanajuato. Known as the Shoe Capital of Mexico, this dynamic commercial center relies heavily on the leather industry that produces shoes, belts, jackets and other accessories for sale in Mexico and around the world. Travelers to Leon can now explore the town on the new rapid bus transportation system called, the Optibus, the first of its kind in Mexico.

To celebrate the new service to Leon, Delta is offering a special low introductory rate from Los Angeles to Leon of $99* one-way for tickets purchased through June 5, 2007 at delta.com or through a travel agent.
