HOUSTON, May 30, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY), North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, announced today that Gary M. Mills has been promoted to assistant vice president, distribution services, effective July 1, 2007. Currently, he serves as senior director, distribution services.
Mr. Mills, 57, joined SYSCO in 1993 as a project manager in the Distribution Services Department of SYSCO Corporation. In 1997, he progressed to director of warehousing services. Previously, he was employed in various corporate and distribution management positions in the foodservice distribution industry. He has been a member of SYSCO's Operations Council since 1997.
A native of Fargo, N.D., Mr. Mills spent some of his formative years in Lamar, CO. He earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1975 from the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, CO. He and his wife, Kathy, have three adult children and are residents of Cypress, TX.
