Taylor Kennedy's Whalen Signs With Marygrove College Men's Basketball Program

DETROIT, May 31, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Josh Whalen, a senior forward from Taylor's Kennedy High School, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball next season at Marygrove College in Detroit. The 6'5" Whalen led a young Kennedy team to an 8-13 record in 2006-07. He averaged 12.8 points per game and 5.7 rebounds his senior year.

Bankhoops.com ranks Whalen number 23 in the state among small forwards. Steve Bell from Bankhoops.com considers Whalen "a capable scorer with decent perimeter skills who should develop into a very good NAIA player."

"We are very excited that Josh has committed to Marygrove and our program to continue his education and basketball career," said Marygrove's Athletic Director/Head Coach Dave Sichterman. We look forward to Josh joining the Mustang family and becoming a student-athlete on our campus."
