Infinity-Test USA, distributor of EWJ Teknik A/S in the United States has won a contract with the State of Tennessee to provide them with their first PBBT (Performance Based Brake Tester). The order value for EWJ is between 300-400 KSEK for one unit and it is the first result after a 2 year work to get the unit certified in the USA. New legislation may create an extensive market in USA for this product within the next years. The installation should take place in July 2007 at the Greenville weigh station on highway I-81 (mile marker 21). The test station is under construction and a 100 feet long inspection pit will be added to the site. The State of Tennessee is planning to conduct some research on the equipment in collaboration with the National Transportation Research Centre along with use for enforcement with the State Patrol Officers. This installation, once completed, should receive the visit of the Governor for an official opening ceremony. “This breakthrough in USA is certainly a very good start and could mean more orders in the future as the first Danish machine will soon be placed on US ground” says Henrik Wagner Jörgensen, Managing Director of EWJ Teknik A/S. The actual strict regulations in United States make it a long, complicated and expensive process to achieve certification of the equipment. Infinity-Test Inc and EWJ Teknik A/S have succeeded to get the FIRST roller brake tester to be certified. In March 2006, after more than 2 years of work, the compliance review has succeeded. The Certification is a must to be able to sell the equipment in USA.
