KMA Global Solutions International Increases Its Position in $15 Million Market, Adding Some of the Largest Supermarkets in North America

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, June 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- KMA Global Solutions International, Inc. (OTCBB:KMAG) (Frankfurt:VVS) today announced an agreement to supply some of the largest supermarket chains in North America with a specially designed Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) label created specifically for grocery stores. As this new addition comes on line, KMA's GSL label will now be found in as many as 5,000 supermarket locations globally.

In an estimated $15 million market, more than 12,000 supermarkets and hypermarkets throughout the world use one of two types of EAS systems to reduce losses due to shoplifting. The wide variety of products sold in modern supermarkets, however, pose significant challenges for EAS systems. Frozen and refrigerated goods, deli products, as well as a variety of general merchandise items, have all proven to be difficult to protect effectively using standard EAS label products. KMA is proud to have developed tagging solutions that can be used on nearly any of these difficult to protect products and can supply versions that are compatible with all of the major EAS technologies in use today.

KMA's GSL label features a waterproof, high tack adhesive coupled with a unique RF or AM EAS element which can be applied to frozen, refrigerated or nearly any other high-theft, difficult-to-protect product found in today's modern supermarkets. Completely moisture-proof, the GSL can easily protect meats and frozen foods, and is even available in a microwave safe format, so defrosting tagged products in a microwave oven is no longer the hazardous problem it was with some standard EAS labels.

Jeffrey D. Reid, CEO of KMA Global Solutions International, Inc., said, "Refrigerated, and especially frozen foods have always been the Achilles heel for EAS systems used in supermarkets. Developing KMA's GSL has been an ongoing process as this unique environment has posed some special challenges." Mr. Reid continued, "Since we originally introduced the GSL in 2003, we have not only consistently received enthusiastic feedback from each new supermarket account using our product, but have seen demand grow from less than 50,000 units annually, to what we anticipate will be about 35 million units in our current fiscal year. Dramatic? Certainly, but that is still only a fraction of the current market potential of around 150 Million units, which could mean a potential of $10-15 million in revenue." He added, "We are excited because we expect the overall market to continue to grow as more supermarkets and hypermarkets install EAS in their stores, and anticipate our share of the expanding overall market to grow in the coming months and years as the GSL gains acceptance in more and more EAS equipped supermarkets."
