LÄNNEN TEHTAAT PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE June 5, 2007 at 12;00 APETIT KALA TO TRANSFER PRODUCTION AND PACKAGING FROM KERAVA TO KUOPIO Apetit Kala Oy has concluded codetermination negotiations with personnel concerning the transfer of its packaging and production from Kerava to Kuopio. The company has decided to carry out the transfer by autumn 2007. Closing down production in Kerava is a natural continuation of the strategic plan to concentrate production in Kuopio. By transferring production from Kerava to Kuopio, Apetit Kala seeks annual cost savings of some EUR 0.5 million through better productivity and cost efficiency. The savings will be implemented in full as of 2008. The investments worth some EUR 0.5 million required for the transfer will be carried out in summer 2007. A total of 26 people are currently working in production and packaging in Kerava, including hired personnel. The concentration of operations will reduce personnel by 12. Apetit Kala Oy, which is fully owned by Lännen Tehtaat plc, produces, markets and sells fresh fish products under the Apetit brand and various supermarket brands and sells fish, fish products and other fresh products in its Kalatori outlets. Net sales for Apetit Kala Oy totalled EUR 58.9 million in 2006 and profit after financial items was EUR 0.6 million. At the end of 2006 the company employed some 380 people: some 110 in fish production and some 270 in the Kalatori business.
