The first lager type beer from the The Jacobsen Brewhouse has been awarded in a prestigious international contest. With three stars the Jacobsen Extra Pilsner received the highest score in the annual contest held by in the International Taste & Quality Institute in Belgium, where chefs, sommeliers and beverages experts from all over Europe award beers and other beverages. With the introduction of the Extra Pilsner, Jacobsen wants to create a Nordic lager and beer tradition with great emphasis on ingredients from the Nordic countries. Among the ingredients are organic pilsner malt from Jutland in Denmark with its unique and characteristic soil type, a Swedish sea buckthorn juice and organic hops from Hallertau in Germany.
