Emulex Expands Global Operations With Opening of New Central European Location

Demand for 4Gb/s Product Offerings Fuels Emulex Expansion in Germany

MUNICH, Germany, June 6, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced the opening of its new Central European office in Munich, Germany. This follows a period of expansion for the company since the announcement of record revenues of over $400 million for fiscal year 2006. Emulex's growth and diversification strategy is driven by global expansion and three market focused product lines -- Host Server Products, Embedded Storage Products and Intelligent Network Products. Emulex delivers products that intelligently connect storage, servers and networks and benefits from synergies created by leveraging its worldwide-wide technology, marketing and sales organizations.

"With offices in several European countries and three solid product lines, Emulex is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the business drivers shaping the server and storage industries, including consolidation, virtualization and convergence of protocols and networks," said Alan Wallman, vice president of EMEA, Emulex Corporation. "Central Europe is a very important territory for us and having a dedicated team in Munich will allow us to focus on expanding our customer base and achieve our goal of providing unmatched products and services to our customers and end users globally."

Over the last year, Emulex has achieved 58% growth in its business throughout EMEA. The EMEA region now represents 38% of the company's total revenue. This significant growth is attributable to Emulex's solid line-up of 4Gb/s design wins with all of the top-tier server and storage OEMs, most recently with IBM BladeCenter, HP Blade Server, IBM Series X, Fujitsu Siemens Computers PRIMERGY and continued gains at Sun, which represent fast-growing market segments in the storage networking industry.

Newly appointed regional sales manager, Thomas Prucker, will head the Munich office. Prucker joins Emulex after 4 years at Hitachi Data Systems where he was Team Leader Local Partner. Prucker has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, the storage industry for over 10 years and specializes in channel development.

"This is a great opportunity to work with an established market leader that is committed to driving innovation throughout the storage industry," said Thomas Prucker, regional sales manager, Emulex Corporation. "Emulex is already well known for its industry-leading HBAs and is focused on continuing to further educate end users, OEMs and resellers within the Central European market about Emulex's host server products, embedded storage products and intelligent network products to ultimately drive revenue growth in this region."
