AKI OJANEN APPOINTED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF ASPO

Aki Ojanen has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO
of Aspo Plc, starting from October 1, 2007. His responsibilities will
include developing the business operations of the Group and expanding
them to the growing market. Ojanen will report to CEO Gustav Nyberg.

Aki Ojanen, eMBA (46), will move to Aspo from Itella Corporation,
where he has worked as Director of contract logistics business
operations and as CEO of Itella Logistics since 2005. Before this
time, Ojanen worked in different assignments at Kuusakoski Oy,
including as CEO in 2003-2005."Aspo's strong growth in the neighbouring Eastern market during the
last few years has showed the potential within the market. The
significance of Russia, in particular, has grown within the Chemicals
and Systems Divisions. With regard to Shipping operations, the goods
flow in Russia has increased significantly during the last few
years," says CEO Gustav Nyberg."Aki Ojanen has strong experience of many years in logistics
services, and his familiarity with the Baltic Sea and CIS markets
will strengthen the know-how of Aspo Group in the desired way."
