ANNE PIRILÄ APPOINTED RAUTARUUKKI'S NEW SVP, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND
INVESTOR RELATIONS 

Anne Pirilä, 43, MSSc has been appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate
Communications and Investor Relations of Rautaruukki as of 
1 September 2007. She joins Rautaruukki from Ahlstrom Corporation, where she
has worked since 2002 and where her most recent position is Vice President,
Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Prior to Ahlstrom, Anne Pirilä
served as Communications Manager at CapMan Plc and in a range of demanding
communications positions at PR Agency Pohjoisranta, Repola Ltd and Hartwall Ltd
as well as a reporter for MTV's Kymmenen Uutiset (10 o'clock news).

member of the extended management group.

Pirilä, SVP, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations.
